![]() The vigil for Peace and Justice on March 8th, International Women's Day, was a successful and powerful event. It was the first time that women had come together as a Women in Black group in Bristol, but definitely won't be the last! We dressed in black and stood silently, holding placards, for 30 minutes, at the top of Park Street. Although there were only 13 of us, the overall feeling and effect was strong and compelling. Even the Evening Post photographer commented on it at the end. Women in Black is a world-wide network of women who are actively opposed to injustice, war, militarism and other forms of violence. All women are most welcome to join in. Please contact me on c.paterson@dial.pipex.com for information about future events. The vigil was filmed by Indymedia too: so watch this space! |
