Caroline Barry's straw-bale house, which she spent eight years fighting to get permission for, burnt down under suspicious circumstances last month. An appeal for funds has been launched.

APPEAL TO EVERYONE AND MORE

I expect most of your know of my circumstances with the house fire. I came to realise, with a shock, that my life restarts again from now. There is no before, it's very weird. Some friends have been kind enough to start a fund of my behalf to rebuild my house and my life.

We have launched an appeal for 20k, so far I have received gifts of £3289

I am now asking everyone who receives this to send me £1 and pass this on to their mailing list.
