![]() Cost of War to South West - just over £1.2 billion 5 years on, it is not over and we need to remember how we got into this mess. There needs to be a reckoning...
Five years on and the total and utter disaster and complete charnel house that is Iraq is still killing, maiming, breeding terror and eating money like a black hole. So how did we get into this? We must not forget that there are people in our communities who put us there. They must take their share of the guilt and blame for the over a million dead, the millions of refugees, the boost to militant Islam and that they have leached they from the South West - just over £1.2 billion by my calculations. |

Jump To Comment: 1....because even the vote for the invasion of Iraq was made unnecessarily complex.
On the 18th March 2003, before the main vote was taken, Peter Kilfoyle Labour MP for Liverpool, tried to stop the Iraq invasion by putting forward an amendment that:-
"a case for war has not been made".
The MP's named in this article voted against Peter's amendment, and so supported the lies of war criminal Anthony Lyndon Blair.
Many people gave their all for what they knew to be right, including the Dr David Kelly and Robin Cook MP. Many lost their jobs including Greg Dyke of the BBC. Two million on the streets of our capital city could see through the lies, the vast majority of the population of our whole planet opposed what they could see as impending slaughter.
But what did these named MP's do? Their vote gave strength to Blair's pack of lies, and the "Crime of Aggression", forbidden under International Law, was committed by our country.
Not only are they responsible for involving our country in the illegal invasion of Iraq, their actions have weakened international law by defying a legal mandate of the United Nations.
In my book that makes them as much war criminals as Bush and Blair.
