John Bolton 'Too Busy' To Speak In Bristol

category bristol | peace | announcement author Monday May 19, 2008 13:20author by info@bristolstopwar Report this post to the editors

The organisers of the Festival Of Ideas have announced that the John Bolton meeting on May 29th is cancelled. See

Of course, he may really be ‘too busy’ and the growing, organised opposition to his invitation to Bristol may have had nothing to do with his decision not to go ahead. And that may be a pig flying past the window. He isn’t too busy to speak on ‘International Relations’ at the Hay Festival the day before. Let’s hope the people of Hay On Wye find ways to let him know he isn’t welcome there either. The main sponsors of the Hay Festival are the Guardian. Why not send an email to them letting them know what you think?

Thanks to everyone who helped in whatever way to put pressure on the organisers and sponsors of the Festival Of Ideas. Next time someone tells you that protesting against the war doesn’t achieve anything tell them about the time John Bolton was ‘too busy’ to speak in Bristol.
