Why not help us to make press freedom a democratic reality? Help us make our own media at the tech meeting on Tuesday the 26th, 7pm at the Watershed.

The Bristol Indymedia Collective is having a tech meeting on Tuesday the 26th, 7pm at the Watershed. We are keen to open this meeting up to new people who might wish to help us build a bigger and better media democracy! The projects that we are looking at and we would welcome ideas, help and input on are;

Video Systems - Adding Flash-video style players to the site so users can upload and play videos without needing to download. There are a number of interesting open source system we are looking at to implement to achieve this - but ideas welcome!

Blogging Systems - We are looking to add a blogging system to our current suite of system but are also interested in adding tools to allow bloggers to easily re-post their content on the Bristol Indymedia site.

Oscailt - The open source content management system we use - we are looking at the new version of the software to implement as well as feeding our work into the larger project.

So if you have a couple of hours to spare either for a one-off project or the ongoing projects, we would welcome your input.

Contact the collective if you want to chat more or just meet us on Tuesday the 26th, 7pm at the Watershed. (We'll be in the back area with a shiny black laptop and, assuming it is free, sat by to doors to Waterside 1 & 2!)
