Wouldn't it be good if...?

Opinion on housing in Bristol . . .

As an unemployed lefty living abroad and desperate to return to the UK and Bristol, I face wading through mind-numbing and limited private classifieds aimed at the 'professional non-smoking' stipulating no DSS, etc., an alienating and fruitless ride through money-grabbing sherriff-landlord housing realities. Yet with all the rebellious local life visible through Indymedia and its network of postings, one assumes the majority of posters are housed. The question then is where and how.

It seems hightime amidst bookfairs, mad pride days squatters action and recycling ventures that some kind of regular housing line were established somewhere. I for one am stuck in a foreign land and want to return to Bristol but am unemployed and fearful of the private landlord predicament, and can;t get housed anyway. How could I find a safe home with unemployed lefties like myself if not through some alternative to the Northcliffe-style dominated classifieds labyrinth. . . ?

On this basis, why not widen the gamut of Indycycle et al to include housing offered and wanted? Record homelessness and the private jungle make the subject a worthy addition to the Indymedia network of subjects.
