Stop Bristol Airport Expansion Campaign Call For Local Solidarity

category south west | protests | news report author Thursday September 04, 2008 11:01author by Emma Report this post to the editors

A quick 5 minutes of action that can sit alongside other actions you may do.

The Stop Bristol Airport Expansion Campaign (Stop BIA) have asked for some local solidarity to another related campaign - that of Stansted. A quick 5 minutes of action that can sit alongside other actions you may do. Stop BIA say;

"Our local council has advised that it is currently receiving as many pro-expansion as anti-expansion letters on the Stansted second runway application (even though overall letters of objection far outweigh the pro ones) following the BAA push to encourage its staff and suppliers to write (I emailed this group about the BAA initiative recently).

Stop BIA would be so grateful if you could put in an objection by email or post - even a couple of lines - to say why you think the expansion shouldn't go ahead. Our revamped second runway page at http://www.stopstanstedexpansion.com/second_runway.html gives details of where to write and provides guidance notes if you need them (the latter are at http://www.stopstanstedexpansion.com/documents/Stansted...n.doc).

EVEN A TWO LINE EMAIL TO planning@uttlesford.gov.uk WOULD BE ENOUGH IF THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TIME FOR.

The deadline is 26 September but it would be great if we could get the responses in sooner rather than later.

Hope you can help (if you haven't already). "

Thanks! (And please, this is not another thread where we need another debate on global warming - comments only about this topic are welcomed!)
