Public meeting and book launch with Jonathan Neale

Global warming threatens our survival but we already have the technology to solve it. The fundamental problem is that the corporations and governments can’t or won’t act – because their pursuit of profit comes before any other consideration.

Global warming threatens our survival but we already have the technology to solve it. The fundamental problem is that the corporations and governments can’t or won’t act – because their pursuit of profit comes before any other consideration.
Most books on climate change are devoted to showing the scale of the threat we face, but
offer inadequate solutions. We are left looking for individual answers, or blaming the world’s poor for wanting a better life.
Jonathan Neale’s approach challenges all this. In his new book he outlines the case for the sort of radical political change that can stop global warming. Some argue that tackling climate change means that we have to make sacrifices. But Jonathan Neale shows that fighting climate change and improving the lives of ordinary people are part of the same struggle. The key question is how we can win that struggle. Come and join the debate.

Jonathan Neale is author of several books including What’s Wrong with America?; A People’s History of the Vietnam War; and You are G8, We are 6 Billion
