Energy Question Time Event

category bristol | the environment | event notice author Thursday September 25, 2008 14:08author by Hannah L - RSPB Report this post to the editors

An evening discussion about climate change and sustainable energy production

Do you, like us, want a future that's clean and green, where wildlife and people can thrive in a safe climate and we get our energy from truly sustainable sources?

This autumn, the RSPB is asking the UK Government to tackle the greatest source of climate pollution in our economy: our power sector. If the UK could do one big thing to slash its carbon emissions, it would be to transform the power generation sector from one that is wasteful and heavily dependent on traditional fossil fuels to one that is highly efficient and relies on the UK's abundant renewable resources of wind, sun and surf.

At our Bristol Energy Question Time event, on Thursday October the 23rd (6.30pm arrival to start at 7.30pm), the RSPB supported by Oxfam, both members of the Stop Climate Chaos coalition, are giving you the chance to join a debate on our energy future. Please come along, meet staff to talk about climate change, energy and the future for people and wildlife. Ask regional MPs and others in the ‘Question Time’ session, directly about their views on energy.

Date - Thursday 23rd October 2008
Time - 6.30pm arrival for 7.30pm start
Venue - Conference Hall, Council House, Bristol City Council, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR
