Son of 80s pop-star refused bail

Otis Ferry, the hyper-privileged son of the 80s pop-icon has devoted the last few years to campaigning against the ban on hunting. He faces two round of charges about his conduct.

The banged-up toff is accused of robbing and assaulting woman hunt monitor Helen Ghalmi during a meeting of the Heythrop Hunt at Lower Swell, near Stow on the Wold in November 2007. He is also accused of perverting the course of justice by rining up his former groomsman David Hodgkiss and ordering him 'not to provide the police with certain evidence in relation to an allegation of robbery.' Another charge alleges that he also tried several times to pervert the course of justice by phoning Hodgkiss and threatening to 'discredit him as a disgruntled former employee.'

Back in 2004 Otis Ferry and seven other pro-hunting protesters illegally entered the House of Commons Chamber in protest at the popular anti-hunting legislation, which had been democratically approved by a massive Commons majority of 356 to 166.

Otis was to be given bail provided he kept clear of the main prosecution witness, but the prosecution objected and the Judge ended up ruling to deny bail.
