Bath & North East Somerset Council (BANES) propose building a Park and Ride facility on Bathampton Meadows, adjacent to Mill Lane, around 100 yds from Bathampton Church and The George Public House

Loss of this important green space would be sad for any reason. However, it would be unforgivable if this space was lost as a result of the mistaken belief that a car park on the Meadows will solve Bath's congestion problems. It won't...

But it will transform the ancient Meadows, forever.

Park & Ride cannot reduce congestion. Cars continue to travel through town. The flow of traffic from east to west and west to east is the primary cause of congestion. In addition to cars, heavy goods vehicles continue to travel through Bath.

Why should you doubt BANES reasoning? Read the Arguments, make up your own mind.

It may not be too late to act to save this beauty spot of ancient meadow next to a nature reserve.
