BRISTOL STOP THE WAR PUBLIC MEETING

Venue: Malcolm X Centre, 141 City Road, BRISTOL, BS2 8YH
Date: Monday 10th November
Time: 7.30pm
Map: http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=bs2+8yh&countryCode=GB

Speakers:
Sabah Jawad (Iraqi Democrats Against Occupation)
Chris Nineham (Stop The War Coalition)
Paul Smith (Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate - Bristol West)

In a few weeks the USA will have a new president. In Iraq and Afghanistan, opposition to
the US and British occupations continues. In the USA and Britain the occupations are
increasingly unpopular. Britain is threatening to send more troops to Afghanistan despite
the fact that high-ranking officers and diplomats are saying that no military victory is
possible. At the same time the policies of the USA are threatening to spread war into
Pakistan. The US have recently launched attacks on Syria as well. Other areas like
Georgia become increasingly unstable as the USA tries to exert its power and influence.
All this is set against the unfolding banking collapse and recession.

Will economic crisis spread the war? Will Obama withdraw US troops from Iraq? Come to
the meeting to discuss why we need to continue our opposition to the 'war on terror'.

Paul Smith, Labour Party candidate for Bristol West constituency, has agreed to come
along so this is an excellent opportunity to hear first-hand his views on the 'war on
terror' as well. We have invited Stephen Williams MP but he is unable to get there.
Another Liberal Democrat may be there.
