First LNG Power Station in 5 Years Opens to Controversy

£400 Million Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) Development "Carbon Dinosaur" About to Open at Langage, Devon

As the International Energy Agency issued a warning stating that; "Current global trends in energy supply and consumption are patently unsustainable — environmentally, economically, and socially..." and the author of Rising Powers, Shrinking Planet: The New Geopolitics of Energy, Michael T. Klare writes; "Fully 45% of the world's remaining [gas] reserves are, however, held by just three countries, Russia, Iran, and Qatar, while large amounts are also held by Algeria, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. This means, of course, that we face the same geopolitical problems relying on natural gas as we do with oil." Ignite writes; The latest carbon dinosaur is about to have an opening ceremony maybe next month or early in the new year. It is the Centrica (they were called British Gas PLC) £400 million development at Langage, just off the A38 between Ivybridge and Plympton in Devon. It would be good if people got together to educate and demonstrate the public's anger at yet another carbon monster being opened - The First in Britain for 5 years and the biggest one in Devon or Cornwall for 30+ years.
