Recycling: One Bottle Bank Does 64,000 Plastic Bottles!

Well done St.Pauls

I went to my local plastic bottle bank to put my recycling in and there was a notice from the council on it that told me this one bank in one year has recycled around 64,000 bottles!

It stated that the single bottle bank in the car park of Malcolm X has collected 3.2 tones of plastic bottles and as each ton is about 20,000 bottles - that's 64,000 bottles!

What is heartening about this is that unlike glass, there is no doorstep collection, so people have to make a special effort - and they do. People will act when they care.

I is also a bit scary how much plastic a small area of bristol uses...
