Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4I know it is extremely difficult to give up, and I have every sympathy with anyone who is addicted to nicotine. But my right to breathe clean air is non-negotiable.
It is a nauseating experience being near someone who is smoking, and I look forward to a time when, hopefully, the ban is extended to include the area in the vicinity of bus stops.

Yeah, I'd been trying to quit for years, I couldn't have done it without the ban. If smokers are such fickled, addicted people they won't chew a bit of gum for the sake of human company I don't want to drink with them anyway. Don't you think that the total collapse of the economy might have something to do with all the pubs closing as well?
As a non smoker who does not like going to smokey places I have now returned to my local rather than staying at home with my partner and drinking there. I am now spending cobnsiderably more in pubs than ever before, this is also true of our friends who we drink with. The pubs we visit seem to be as busy as they were 2-3 years ago.
Smokers enjoy a cigarette, the by product of which is smoke. This gets in my hair, clothes, makes me feel sick and could possibly give me lung cancer. I enjoy a drink, the by prodcut of which is my urine. I don't mind you smoking near me if you don't mind me pissing all over you. A fair exchange I feel.
Can anyone please explain how The Prince of Wales at the bottom of Gloucester Road get away with allowing people to smoke in their back yard. it seemms to be almost completely enclosed by a roof.
but, can those of us who choose to smoke still be allowed to just go in a garden - even an uncovered one and we promise faithfully to continue to try and be considerate of the rest of you? Pretty please?
