Focusing tonight on animal rights prisoners

This May's Bristol ABC monthly letter writing night will focus on animal rights & vegan prisoners - behind bars for their beliefs. We will be joined by members of the Bristol anaimal rights coalition for an evening of letters, chat and info.

Wednesday 13 May, 7.30 to 9pm, at Kebele social centre, 14 Robertson Rd, Bristol BS5 6JY. Hot drinks and snacks available, bring more to share - vegan of course!

On the 2nd Wednesday of every month Bristol ABC meets up to collectively write letters to political prisoners in the UK and abroad, and also to radicalised social prisoners. We also chat about campaigns, prison news, and the generally appalling state of justice worldwide.

This month we are delighted to be joined by Bristol's local animal rights group, so as to focus on the large number of animal rights & vegan prisoners currently languishing behind bars for their beliefs. We'll have long lists of prisoners who'd welcome a letter and other support, along with info about relevant solidarity campaigns, and veganism in general.

If you'd like to find out more, help writing to prisoners, or want to get involved, then please come along. We'll have prisoner's info, paper, pens, stamps and more. If you've never written to a prisoner before, and aren't sure how to go about it, this is a great opportunity to get started!

Running alongside our groups is the 'Letters i wish i'd written project' - more info here http://www.kebelecoop.org/images/event_letters_may08.pdf
