Citizen-reporter captures police brutality with Tasers

Despite the assurances about the extending of Tasers to all police officers in England/Wales, they are already being over-used, in combination with old-fashioned fisticuffs, against your fellow citizens. This recent example was captured by a local citizen-reporter in Nottinghamshire... More at http://www.hanleyexpress.blobspot.com

The person being arrested had only just assaulted a police officer and as a result of this is being charged with GBH.

before passing judgement, i would be interested in seeing the whole of the video, not just edited highlights.

Yeah, whatever - the fact is that the person was tazered whilst lying still on the ground. That's mis-use and frankly illegal.

These literally barbaric weapons in the hands of over-excited officers have resulted in the deaths of several hundred people since their introduction.

Stop tyring to justify their use in this case.

Like the way Rodney King was aggressive to officers before he was beaten to the ground and pistol-whipped until he nearly died?

And locking prisoners in a 4' x 3' box for days on end, then opening the lid and throwing insects in, and telling the prisoner they are poisonous, is 'justified in this new climate of terror'?

And Jean Charles de menezes was here illegally, which has something to do with him being shot over ten times in the head?

And Ian Tomlinson was 'aggressive and uncooperative' before he was pushed and whipped?

And the G20 Climate Campers were 'not dispersing' so they were baton charged, and and hit with the edge of shields, while standing with their hands in the air chanting 'this is not a riot'?

And table legs look like guns so they mean it's ok to shoot someone dead, or 'taking the shot' five minutes after the target has dropped his gun?

And hit and run drivers are allowed to drive away because a greater offence of 'not doing what a policeman says straight away' was being committed?

And the raiding and trashing of people's homes by the police when they are arrrested on trumped-up charges which are later dropped, in an attempt to intimidate them out of protesting, is done 'in the public good'?

And introducing 'anti stalker' laws in a wave of publicity and then in 90% of cases using it to carry out a private vendetta against the Animal Rights movement?

And increasing the Avon & Somerset police budget by at least 5% every year, rain or shine, despite falling crime figures, so they can spend more money on new toys like tasers and shiny new batons, because you know if anyone complains you can abuse your powers to shut them up?

That kind of thing?

I have seen the video and the person is not lying still on the ground, he is putting up one hell of a fight.

I guess you either chose to ignore or didn't see the comment about the person being charged with GBH on a policeman.

er...i'll think you'll find he is on the ground and being dealt with by 4 officers when he is tazered for the 2nd time...nice they throw a couple of punches in for good measure.

4000 coppers, terrible shame.

So, what's that got to do with sending 50,000 volts through someone and then punching him when he's on the ground?

I think it's you who needs a little perspective mate. Just because some of 'our boys' do a good job, just because some of them get killed doing it, doesn't mean that bad cops should be able to do what they want, and be covered by apologists like you.

So how many people have died in the hands of the police?

50,000 volts is better than 10 bullets in the head. At least he is still around today.

How can we trust them with tazers if they can't event keep to their own rules?

No real human being would post these comments of defense, come on, who is paying you to right this s#it!

Anyone with half a brain cell can see the police state rising in this country and accross the globe.

Even the media are glorifying the death of a protestor in Iran by the hands of the police and will no doubt push for war because of it. In that case, who's gonna invade us? Didn't the same thing happen in London.

At least it was a tazer not bullets! Are you crazy? I'm sure Ian Tomlinson may have chosen the bullets, not being battered to death!

I really cant believe what a nations of wimps we have become, any true brit would be speaking out right now to regain our freedoms but everyone i try to awaken just says nothing can be done, or looks blank and cant even engage in the conversation. Stop watching TV, reading bs media, stop drinking the fluoride water and join a freedom group before its too late.

Nonsense, although it's good to see the Tooting Popular Front is still around.

You may call yourself a UK citizen, but you are no patriot.

If you sit on your fat ass and keep in denial you will no doubt wait until you and your family are being taken away before you work it out.

I feel very sorry for you.
