Don't Hide It Any Longer

Cyclists on recent Critical Mass bike rides in Bristol will know the rides are succeeding in disowning the aggressive, confrontational image some CMs may have had in the past in favour of a fun, cheery, carnival-like celebration of cycling.

The next Critical Mass ride is coming-up on Friday August 28: meet at the fountains opposite the Hippodrome at 5.30 for 6pm ride.

Get on Your Bike - Don't Hide It Any Longer

Cyclists on recent Critical Mass bike rides in Bristol will know the rides are succeeding in disowning the aggressive, confrontational image some CMs may have had in the past in favour of a fun, cheery, carnival-like celebration of cycling. The riders defuse much of the potential tension with smiles, costumes, music and decorated bikes, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Several riders bring their kids along, whilst others hand out leaflets to drivers and passers-by, thanking them for their patience and explaining what the ride is all about.

Critical Mass still asserts cyclists' space on the road, and still questions society's car-dominance, but many of its participants are working hard to make people want to join them rather than want to kill them!

The next Critical Mass ride is coming-up soon! All are welcome!

Friday August 28, 6pm
This is the usual ride that happens on the last Friday of every month. Meet at the fountains opposite the Hippodrome at 5.30 for 6pm ride. The ride goes on for about an hour and a half and will finish at a central pub - probably the Apple, so we can sit outside. Funky bikes, costumes and decorations are very welcome!
