key council meetings on airport expansion

category somerset | transport | news report author Thursday October 01, 2009 17:16author by fw Report this post to the editors

Airport planning application:

Please come to Council meetings next week and following week

The airport's planning application is going for comment to three Area Committees in the next two weeks. The application will probably be determined at the South Area committee meeting in December but may be delayed until later.

To get the best possible outcome, the three Area Committees must highlight major concerns about expansion.

It is crucial that the District Councillors at these meetings understand how controversial this development is and follow the example of Bristol City Council and Bath and North East Somerset District Council by objecting to the proposal and outlining the strongest possible constraints.

Your attendance at these meetings will make a difference - please come to any or all of these meetings if you possibly can.

The three Area meetings will be held at the Town Hall, Walliscote Grove Road, Weston-super-Mare as follows:

Weds 8 October:
North Area 2.30 pm
Central Area 6.00 pm

Thurs 15 October:
West Area 6.00 pm

We look forward to seeing you there.

Best wishes
