(1) Congratulations to Friends of Earth for their excellent "Get Serious
About CO2 campaign" cards - they have passed 27 cards from Ashley
residents to us. Personally hand delivered replies to all! Let me know
if you would like an email copy of our reply.

(2) Tonight - Local Morris dance side looking for new members, next
taster session. Fri 16th October Pigsty Hill, Bishopston

(3) Nick Clegg meets - at Colston Hall Monday 26th October 6:30pm -

(4) I understand that BT have formally agreed to remove the telephone
kiosk outside Montpelier Park that was the focus for so much anti-social
behaviour. Thanks to Shiona and others for all their work.

(5) A&M Motors, St Werburghs - Officer reports, "The whole verge subject
to this enforcement case has finally been surfaced with turf. This
complies with the requirements of the notice and the case can be
closed." Sadly not restored to original state.

(6) Continuing pressure for a safer walking route to school along the
stretch of Ashley Down Road between the junction of Sefton Park Road and
Happy Lane.

(7) 20mph on local residential roads - more news on Ashley plans
shortly. Thanks to all the residents who have responded.

(8) St Pauls Unlimited is inviting applications from St Pauls community
organisations for 5 grants of £1,000 by 12 noon, Friday 23 October
2009. More details and application forms email spu at bristol.gov.uk.

(9) Officers are planning to remove the pelican crossing on Newfoundland
Road by St Nicholas Road and replace with an informal crossing.

(10) "Ask the Agencies" is now called "Got a Problem?" and is next
taking place on Thursday 19th November 6pm at St Pauls Learning Centre.
Chance to meet councillors, police, youth services, parks, housing, etc.

(11) St Pauls Community Safety Task Group - next meeting Monday 2nd
November 6pm = PACT meeting for whole of Ashley ward. Details of

(12) Brooks Cleaners site, St Werburghs - development potential for site

(13) Next Fairfield High School Local Residents Meeting, Tues. 10th
November, Community Room, Fairfield High School, 7.00-8.30pm

(14) News in brief : Cobbled pavement and road - partial restoration in
Backfields Lane, St Pauls. Happy Lane, Sefton Park wall repaired -
hooray! Continued progress, albeit slow, on Hurlingham Road plans,
excellent St Werburghs Art trail - thanks all. Good turnout for St
Andrews Park - walkabout. Stunning events at The Bristol Do.
