A clothes shop called John Anthony came under attention of animal rights protesters a few years back when they were revealed to be selling real fur in their stores. After some negotiations and a series of demonstration at their shops nationwide they agreed to cease this barbaric trade.
However, it was brought to our attention not so long ago that they were stocking a line of D and G jackets with rabbit fur trim. For the production of this fur, rabbits are kept in small wire cages, not-disimilar from those of battery hens, for the entirety of their lives. When they are big enough, they will be electrocuted orally, anally and vaginally. Quite often before they have died their skin will be torn from their backs, and used to produce clothing such as that John Anthony stock.
After a series of letters were sent out to all of their stores and the head offices, and activists visiting their stores to talk to staff, a visit was paid to their head offices in Bath. An e-mail was recieved from the Swindon branch of the stores announcing they were withdrawing all fur products from sale and sending them back to the company who made them. A brief meeting was held at the head offices in which they echoed the same message recieved in the e-mails.
Knowing that companies have been deceitful in the past, activists decided it would be best to keep an eye on the shops to ensure the clothing in question was removed. However, activists hardly set foot in Bristol store before their eyes were drawn to a burberry jacket with real fur around the hood, priced at nearly £600 to demonstrate the general social standing of those who are so devoid of a moral conscience that they would wear fur. Staff were quick to jump on the defensive before anyone had opened their mouth, showing their desperation to protect their involvement in this disgusting trade.
It's disgusting enough that they dangle their outrageously priced clothing in front of us with a smug belief that they are better than us for their wealth, without them having to torture and kill animals to do so!
Please, contact John Anthony with the provided details and register your disgust. If there's a John Anthony in your locality, please check for real fur and complain directly to them. And, if continues, stand-by for demonstrations!
