The Spring of Activism is an exciting new project between the UBU, UWESU and the NUS. We aim to support, develop and instigate activism within Bristol. Through inspirational speaker events and workshops we hope to encourage networking, new ideas and debate on issues from lobbying to direct action between students and non-students across Bristol.

Our first event will take place this coming Thursday the 1st of March at 7.30 at Co-Exist in Stokes Croft. The event will be a panel discussion regarding activism in Bristol. We have speakers from recent campaigns such as Gus Hoyt from No Tesco, Sian Norris from the Bristol Feminist Network and Humberto Perez Blanco from the Bristol Radical Film Festival.. Each speaker will talk about their understanding of Bristol as a centre of activism. Then the discussion will be led from the floor looking at why Bristol has seen so much activism since its birth as a city.

We hope you can join us - find out more by visiting www.ubu.org.uk./voice/spring
