In times when the State is autocratic a free and open media is vitally important as a bastion of democracy and independent opinion. However in this modern era the media is struggling with it's own autocratic tendencies. Has big money crippled the media's independent intentions? Has entertainment culture turned us all into tv zombies? Who owns our desires? What sort of media do we want to see in a just world?

Come to discuss these questions and more.

Film list:

-Astroturf wars - (clip from)
-Adam Curtsis - Century of self ( clip from)
-Rupert Murdoch (the early years)
-John Pilger - the war you don't see (clip from)
-and more...

...and of course lots of discussion

Global Justice Cinema runs on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. The next theme will be on Corporations on June 19th.
