(Tuesday 15 May / 8pm / £5/4)
(Jean-Pierre Melville / 1967 / France / 105 minutes / PG / subtitled)

Our friends at 20th Century Flicks have chosen this classic French crime thriller, rarely seen on the cinema screen. Alain Delon is iconic as a meticulous contract killer, a loner struggling to stay in control of events as they slip out his grasp and the police close in on him. Every scene is beautifully styled and the tension builds to a surprising finale. Director Jean-Pierre Melville's influence runs through the works of Walter Hill, Paul Schrader and Quentin Tarantino, and Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive. Seize the chance to see this classic
in all its glory: on a big screen, in a dark room, with strangers. Dress code: Sharp.
Location: The Cube Cinema, Dove Street South, Bristol BS2 8JD.
