(Sun 10th - Wed 13th @ 8pm, Baby Cinema Wed 11th @ 11am / £5/4/3 TTT) (Aki Kaurismäki / 2011 / Finland, France, Germany / 93 minutes / Certificate PG / French with subtitles)

Finnish writer-director Aki Kaurismäki polishes his style of deadpan absurdism to a hilarious gloss in this tale of underdogs united. Le Havre is the story of a young African refugee(Blondin Miguel) who arrives in France in a container and the bohemian ex writer Marcel(Andre Wilms), now working as a shoeshiner, he meets by chance. With innate optimism and the unwavering support of his community, Marcel stands up to officials doggedly pursuing the boy for deportation.
Le Havre, offers the director's usual humour, pitch-perfect acting and a compassionate message, with a Gallic twist that should win new converts
