Music, film, football & fun!  Great free events: 17th–23rd June 2012

The week kicks off with Sunday’s Celebrating Sanctuary Day in Queen Square – a jaw-dropping, hip-shaking line-up of music, dance, food & fun (1.30-6pm). The action moves on to The Cube that evening for the screening of an award-winning documentary and animation about Asylum (7pm & 9pm).  And then the week is filled with giant board games and interactive workshops at Barton Hill School, tea & cake with the Lord Mayor on Wednesday (3pm) – and a final fabulous 7-a-side Football Tournament from 1-5pm on Saturday!

All events are free except for The Cube screenings, which are free to refugees & asylum seekers.

Refugee Week is a UK-wide programme of cultural and educational events which celebrates the contribution of refugees to the UK, brings people together and encourages better understanding between communities.
