"Indigenous Perspectives" brings the world of indigenous peoples to Bristol – people from Papuan rainforests, Pacific atolls, the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the snows of Tibet, and South America’s southern-most tip. Indigenous Perspectives is a one-day conference on Monday 12th October, celebrating the 2nd anniversary of the signing of the U.N’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Nick has written extensively on the notion of living off grid, that is how to disconnect yourself from energy and utility companies in order to make yourself self-sufficient and sustainable. Why would you want to do that you may ask? Well as climate change and energy resources such as oil continue to decline, the cost and availability of cheap energy will also decline. Currently our energy needs are being fulfilled by others, such as gas from Russia and Oil from all over the world putting the UK in a very precarious position in terms of energy. Astra Zeneca (AZ) is a pharmaceutical company who paysHuntingdon Life Sciences to torture animals. HLS is responsible for the death of over 500 animals every day. Join us this Friday (18th Sept) to let AZ know how we feel about animal abuse. A 30 seater minibus is leaving from central Bristol at 3.30pm and there are a few places left.
