Microfinance represents financial services for the poor. Microfinance institutions should follow the social enterprise ideal of education and equality for those below the poverty line - it should enable them to lift themselves from poverty. There are 1.4 billion people under the poverty line ($1.25 a day) and a quarter, 300 million live in China, particularily in Rural areas. On Monday 7th March, at 7pm in the Wills memorial building we will be celebrating the Launch of Wokai Bristol. Wokai is an online platform that enables you to help these people through Microfinance. If you are interested in coming along to hear more about Microfinance, Wokai Bristol or to network with local entrepreneurs and professionals, please RSVP you free place here: www.wokai.org/events read full story / add a comment
