SWRDA or the South West Regional Development Agency, is the quango sitting over our region like a SW-wide octopus with the tentacles in (and round) lots and lots of places. It has been under attack in cyberspace for some time now here and by bloggers such as the Bristol Blogger. Well now the other bits of local media have finally caught up and weighed in to examine them - and their £2 million spending on foreign offices. read full story / add a comment

Bristol City Council are now consulting on the “Bristol Development Framework” for the next 20 years. If you care about how Bristol develops (29,500 new homes, airport expansion, affordable housing, climate change, greenspaces, outdoor advertising), please read it and respond. It’s dull stuff, but it will direct what gets built where over the next 20 years. The developers are certainly involved, so if you don’t get involved, don’t moan about all the crap development that goes on.

Consultation ends 22nd February.

What a surprise, Bristol City Council cock things up once again! And SWRDA vote against Bristol Arena too. Who are these people?! Bristol is meant to be the gateway to the South West. What a joke! We loose IMAX, Wild Walk, (both closed), the British and Commonwealth Museum is moving to London, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Royal is under threat of closure but we are being told it needs a revamp, (pull the other one). read full story / add a comment
