Sivarajah, aged 26 has been living in the UK since he was 14 years old. Last Tuesday, he was sent to Campsfield detention centre where he began a hunger strike. Monday marks the fifth day of this. Siva is a much loved member of his community in Bristol, often cooking for 130 people at the Bristol Refugee Rights welcome centre. He is a keen cricketer, having been a member of two cricket teams here. Bristol Refugee Rights will be staging a demonstration at College Green 1pm Monday 13 December – demonstrators will be wearing cricket whites and appealing to the British publics sense of ‘Fair Play’ by declaring ‘It’s simply not Cricket’ read full story / add a comment

while the demo today started off quick and moving well, it was soon kettled up in clifton.... a few folks managed to avoid the kettle, found each other on the other side of a police line that wasn't looking to move anytime soon and decided to join up and stay on the move and vocal regardless. after failing to break through a police line below college green, they took to the back streets and moved off towards broadmead. read full story / add a comment
